A Douglas councillor says the corporation is being bullied by government over the Bowl refubishment project.
The Corporation will be asked to rethink its decision not to support the stadium re-vamp in time for the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2011.
If funding is again refused, the Bowl could be the subject of a compulsory purchase order.
The council voted against funding half the scheme saying the £1.7 million cost to Douglas ratepayers could not be justified.
The corporation's been told it will need to spend that sum anyway, to carry out essential repairs.
Leisure services chairman Stephen Pitts says that simply isn't true.
