Rushen MHK Phil Gawne says last year’s government restructuring wasn’t the ideal solution to problems, but has made things better.
Mr Gawne, who’ll defend his seat in September’s general election, says in a perfect world the government would also have looked at the services it provides and prioritise them.
He says that would have made the job of looking at possible cutbacks a bit easier in the wake of further budget reductions caused by the UK’s VAT negotiations.
But Mr Gawne says he believes changing how government is structured was the right thing to do.
