There has been a rise in the number of cases of a rare and potentially fatal disease in the Isle of Man.
Leptosporosis or Weil's Disease is contracted by humans from infected rat urine, with farm workers and people who have recreational contact with water particularly susceptible.
Symptoms start off similar to flu, but progress to affect the liver and kidneys, causing severe jaundice.
