Minister hopes new bill will put Island in good position ahead of Moneyval
It's important for everyone that the Island has an up-to-date and well-regulated finance sector.
That's from the treasury minister after a bill updating laws for companies in the financial services industry completed its passage through the House of Keys.
Chris Thomas is optimistic the changes will enhance consumer protection and put the sector in a good position ahead of this year's Moneyval assessment.
But he told Manx Radio the benefits reach beyond the 4,000 Manx residents working in finance:
