31-year-old released on court bail until December
A visitor from Wales will appear in court again next month after being accused of assaulting another man in the street after a night out.
Benjamin David Thomas Williams, of Llannerch-Y-Medd in Anglesey, has been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm and affray.
It’s alleged the 31-year-old began 'shadowboxing' the victim - on Strand Street in Douglas just after 12.30am on 11 November – before headbutting him.
The court was told police believe the victim suffered a bleed on the brain as a result.
Bail was granted, after a £5,000 surety was lodged at Douglas Courthouse, and Mr Williams will next appear in court on 21 December.
Update: At Douglas Courthouse on 21 December Mr Williams' attendance was excused after the court heard he was unable to travel to the Island due to severe disruption caused by the weather. He will next appear in court on 18 January.
