It was wetter and windier than usual, but warm and humid conditions in the last week of July brought the monthly average temperature up to around normal levels.
Until then it was looking like we were going to have the coolest July for many years, says the Met Office in its end of month weather summary.
The mean daytime maximum temperature was 18C, spot on the long term average.
The warmest day was last Monday, the 28th, with 24.4C measured at Ronaldsway.
There was nearly 50% more rainfall than usual last month, the wettest day being the 17th when almost a fifth of the month's total fell.
Unsurprisingly, sunshine was slightly down, 163 hours is about 30 less than the average.
The best day was the 12th with 13.4 hours.
Winds were above normal, with a mean speed of 10.5 knots recorded.
And five days of fog were observed at Ronaldsway.
