
Minister responds to concerns as measure left out of new employment changes
There's been criticism over the lack progress with plans to introduce shared parental leave on the Isle of Man.
A number of enhancements to employment rights come into force today, including around antenatal leave and whistleblowing.

The enterprise minister says legislation around shared parental leave is being worked on, and it will 'definitely' be in place by the end of the year.
Shared parental leave allows eligible parents to split up to 50 weeks worth of time off. They can decide to be off work at the same time or take it in turns to be on leave to look after their child - whatever their circumstances may dictate.
This was implemented in the UK in April 2015, but a decade later it's still not a statutory right on the Isle of Man.
