2019 had the highest number of new arrivals so far
The number of babies being born on the Isle of Man is currently at its lowest level in four years.
Figures for 2022 are not yet complete but show that, up to the end of September, 449 babies had been delivered on the Island.
If another 226 children are born by the end of the year the birth rate will match that of 2021 when there were 675 new arrivals.
The 2021 birth rate was slightly higher than that of 2020 when 660 babies were born – 50 fewer than in 2019.
The figures have been released in response to a Freedom of Information request.
