People walking their dogs are being advised to avoid fields where any livestock are looking after their young.
It follows an unusual incident in which a woman was jostled by a herd of cows protecting their calves
It happened in a field behind Kentraugh House near Gansey, on Friday morning.
The woman, in her 50s, was walking her dog and although the animal wasn't deliberately worrying the cows, they took action to defend their calves.
As a result she received chest injuries which needed hospital treatment.
