Robert McConville has charges withdrawn
A man accused of assaulting his girlfriend has had charges against him withdrawn.
Robert Anthony McConville, of Grosvenor Road in Douglas, had been charged with the offence, which was said to have taken place at his home on 20 March.
Appearing before magistrates at Douglas courthouse, prosecutor Roger Kane said the woman had now retracted her complaint to police.
He said there was no realistic prospect of conviction and so withdrew the allegation.
