An 18-year-old Ramsey woman who bit a police officer has been given 150 hours community service by the deputy high bailiff.
Loryn Walker, of Queens Pier Road, admitted biting Pc Gavin Quirk's hand, causing the skin to break and his hand to swell.
Police had been called to a domestic incident, and Walker became aggressive when she was told she was going to be arrested.
Walker, who wrote letters of apology to the officers involved in the incident, was told the community service was a direct alternative to 50 days in prison.
She appeared before Alastair Montgomerie at Douglas Courthouse.
