
Police, fire and ambulance crews were called out to an accident on the Ballamodha straight overnight, which left two women trapped in their car.
Fire crews from Castletown and Douglas used cutting gear and other equipment to free the pair, whose car sustained 'significant impact damage' ain the collision and had overturned onto its side.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident at around 7.30pm Friday (13 Feb).
Ambulance crews gave initial treatment at the scene to two females who were then taken to hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known.
A stretch of the road was closed between Cross Four Ways and the junction with the A34 for around three hours, while emergency services dealt with the scene, the car was moved and debris cleared, the road re opened before midnight.
