Southbound carriageway closed for final surface to be laid
More work is taking place on the A5 Douglas to Castletown Road this evening (Wednesday).
The Department of Infrastructure is resurfacing the bottom of Richmond Hill.
The paver team will lay the final surface on the southbound carriageway – this will then remain closed to traffic overnight to allow the new surface to cool and harden.
Traffic lights will be used to maintain two-way traffic through this period but will be removed before the ‘commuter run’ tomorrow (9 November).
After 9am on Thursday they’ll be brought back in so that line painters can mark the new surface – something which is weather dependent; if the weather is poor this may be done on Friday instead.
