The tent for the Manx Telecom Bay Festival has arrived!
The massive structure, which includes a 40 by 20 metre stage, arrived on the Island on five huge trailers, after travelling up from the south of England.
The festival takes place at Noble's Park, over three days from Friday, June 18.
Edward Oldham has the details (text, below, from attached audio file):
Tomorrow (Saturday) a team of over 200 will start the enormous task of erecting the tent, then fitting it out ahead of the festival.
This will take place in two phases - assembly of the tent will take a week, then another five days will be spent wiring in lighting, sound and camera systems.
Other structures will also be going up, including the 188 Foundation's 2-storey 'Cube', an inflatable creation equipped with TV screens, couches and a staircase.
Manx Radio will be at the site every day to see how construction is getting on and you can see the site's progress via a webcam, available on the Festival website.
