
Latest census shows 1.51% regularly cycle to work
More than £860,000 has been spent improving four cycle routes on the Island over the last five years.
The most expensive scheme was a shared use path in Ramsey between Poyll Dooey and Gardeners Lane, costing a total of £327,600, while almost £240,000 was spent adding a cycle route at Pulrose Bridge.
The figures relate to schemes carried out by the Department of Infrastructure since 2018.
The 2021 census showed 1.51% of the Island's population cycle to work, compared to just under 1% in 2011.
