Fundraiser still at Club function rooms
The Isle of Man Lions Club says its fundraising Christmas Market can now go ahead as planned – despite the closure of the Mount Murray Golf Club’s function rooms.
The organisation was worried at the end of last week it might have to cancel the event, but managers have now said it can still be held at the venue.
The market takes place on November 29 and is the Lions Club’s flagship festive fundraiser.
President Eric Collister says he sympathises with the staff who will lose their jobs, but he’s grateful to the golf club’s directors:
