Police are appealing for people to be extra careful this Christmas and New Year to prevent theft.
They say heating oil, fuel and scrap metal are among the items targeted by thieves at this time of year.
Officers are asking people to report anything that looks suspicious, especially around businesses which are closed over the festive period.
They add they will be stepping up their patrols in areas at risk during the holidays.
