Was en-route to Wales before being towed back
Lifeboat crew rescued a yacht this morning which had got into difficulty near Douglas.
The 10 meter vessel was sailing to Wales when an electrical fault caused the engine to fail.
Douglas RNLI located the boat, just after 7am, and towed it back to Battery Pier.
Crew had completed training with a new towing system yesterday.
Coxswain Peter Cowin said: "The new towing system produced by the RNLI is well engineered and worked well.
"Besides this afternoon's exercise there are others planned for later in the week so the rest of our volunteers can complete their training with the new towing system."
