Performance of poignant play reprised
An award-winning performance of a play about teenage cancer sufferers is to be reprised by youngsters at an Island theatre school tonight (10 July).
Stage One secured top spot in the Manx Amateur Drama Federation One Act Play Festival in February, with their performance of Hospital Food by Eugene O'Hare.
It's set in a teenage cancer ward where patients share their experiences in a special room called The Retreat, away from doctors, nurses and parents.
The story, told through teenagers' eyes, is described as thought-provoking and touching.
All proceeds from tonight's performance at Ballakermeen High School's Studio Theatre will go to Hospice Isle of Man and its centre for children Rebecca House - which has its own retreat named Jade's Place, in memory of local teenager Jade Quirk.
