It's hoped the Young Driver 2008 scheme will help develop better driving standards among the Island's more recently qualified drivers.
The initiative was launched at the Sea Terminal on Friday night with trade exhibitors, representatives from clubs, rally and kart enthusiasts, and displays by the emergency services.
Chairman of the Isle of Man branch of the Institute of Advanced Motorists, Mike Dunne, says he believes the scheme will have a positive effect on younger drivers:
