Southern group teams up with produce show for 'Big Spud' contest
The chair of the Southern Young Farmers says it's important the group supports community events to ensure they don't disappear.
The Southern Chrysanthemum Society teamed up with the organisation for its recent annual show in a bid to attract more young growers to enter the event.
It saw the introduction of the Young Farmers' 'Big Spud' competition, alongside more traditional classes for flowers, vegetables and confectionary.
Manx Radio Countryside's Kirree Kermode went along to find out more from Southern Young Farmers chair Caesar Kermode; winner of best in show in the Chrysanthemum class, Michael Pemberton and first treasurer and organiser of the show, Juan Gill:
