Children can travel back in time with the Family Library’s summer reading scheme.
Details were unveiled at its launch today (Saturday).
The theme is The Time Machine, taking inspiration from the H. G. Wells classic.
It aims to transport young bookworms back to the Victorian period, with a nod to the steampunk genre of science fiction and a chance to investigate the different sides of life and social divides at the time.
The reading and games challenge runs until the end of the summer holidays.
The library is open today until four o’clock.
