First-time voters at Thursday's local elections are having the political process explained in a new leaflet, which has been sent out to local secondary schools.
The leaflet covers the Island's local authority system, and how Douglas Council and the district, village and parish boards of commissioners work.
It's only the second time 16 year olds have had a chance to go to the polls - the age was lowered in time for the general election in 2006 - and the leaflet is aimed at encouraging the youngsters to use their vote!
