A gang of youths may have used a 'vehicle emergency hammer' to smash every window in each of three vehicles in Onchan at the weekend.
Two in Mount View Road and one in Royal Avenue were attacked, and a number of young people were heard in the area at the time.
Emergency hammers are used by motorists to break out of vehicles, and police say there is no reason why anybody else should carry one. Parents who find their children with such items are being told to seize them.
Anybody with information about the criminal damage is asked to ring 675190.
