Organisers outline current plans for July's event in Orkney
Organisers of the 2025 Island Games in Orkney have confirmed the first competition schedule for the event.
Taking place from 12-18 July, 13 sports will be contested at this year's event with competition running from Sunday, 13 July right through until the following Friday (18 July).
The likes of athletics, badminton, football, lawn bowls, sailing, squash and triathlon will get things underway on day one (13 July).
A day later on 14 July the archery, golf, gymnastics and swimming competitions will commence.
The only occasion to take place on Saturday, 12 July will be the official opening ceremony which is currently scheduled to get underway at 5pm.
Meanwhile, the closing ceremony on Friday, 18 July is planned from 8pm onwards that evening.
All timings and details in the schedule remain subject to change, potentially at short notice.
