Stars of road racing on Island for Billown Course meeting
The 2026 Southern 100 Road Races are due to get underway in the south of the Island this evening (6 July).
Some of the biggest names in road racing are set to take on the meeting on the Billown Course which runs each day until Thursday (9 July).
For this year, there's been some notable changes to the format, including the addition of a qualifying and race session on Wednesday morning (8 July) and classic sidecars replacing modern F2 machinery.
Callum Staley from the event's organisers, the Southern 100 Club, says it's not just exciting racing the races are known for, but also the overall community feel around the meeting:
The action is due to start tonight with opening qualifying for all solo and sidecar competitors with roads around the Billown Course due to shut at 6pm and reopen no later than 9.40pm.
All timings throughout the races remain subject to change depending on prevailing conditions and circumstances.
