18 year-old Manx cyclist Anna Christian has finished 25th at the Junior Women World Championship Road Race in Italy.
A five rider group broke away early in the near 83 kilometre contest held over 5 laps of a course in and around Florence.
They built a lead of over two minutes by halfway.
Anna and fellow British rider Bethany Hayward rode hard at the front of the peloton which splintered and reduced on the major climb each circuit.
With such a rate of attrition, the peloton was unable to catch the breakaway with Anna finishing about 34 seconds behind winner Amalie Dideriksen of Denmark.
