Two races, two victories for Ian Lougher.
But it was hard not to feel sympathy for Chris Palmer who led with just a lap and a half remaining before he retired at Ballabeg with mechanical problems.
Lougher again took the victory as the duo enjoyed another close battle in the first leg of the Motorsport Merchandise Lightweight 250cc TT.
Palmer had the consolation of setting a new lap record on lap five - 2:29.068 – with Lougher also setting a new record, for a few seconds at least, on the same lap
A ‘tired’ Michael Dunlop, winner of the TT Supersport Race Two earlier in the week, came home second with Barry Davidson in third.
Maurice Mawdsley saw Lougher secure a double.
