Manxman makes promising start
Manx 8-Ball Pool player David Addinall made a promising start to his campaign on the professional circuit, at the Welsh Open in Cardiff.
Competing at the first International Professional Pool Players' Association tour event of the year, Addinall reached the last 32 in the Pro event.
He won by a convincing 8-3 scoreline in his round-of-64 match against England's Simon Webb - and was then 5-2 ahead in the last 32 before eventually losing 8-6 to Jimmy Carney, also English, who would go on to finish runner up in the tournament.
Addinall's next IPA Tour event takes place in Aberdeen from 16 to 18 March.
