'All Saints Day' at refurbished Bowl

Holders St George's meet Douglas rivals St Mary's in the Railway Cup final at the Bowl in Douglas this afternoon (Boxing Day).

The Geordies bagged three of the four major trophies in Manx Football last season and are the unbeaten leaders of the Premier League as 2011 draws to a close.

They saw off the challenge of Laxey in the semi-finals, winning 2-0 at Glencrutchery Road, and will be going all out for what could be the first trophy in a 'Grand Slam' campaign.

Peter Langridge has assembled a pacey and exciting team at St Mary's, who have the advantage of playing all their home matches on the artificial surface at the Bowl.

St Mary's defeated Old Boys 3-2 in a thrilling game to book their place in the final, and will be keen to derail the Geordies' 'Grand Slam' train.

It's the first time the newly refurbished stadium has hosted the Railway Cup final and kick-off is at 2pm.
