'Kipper does it again'; Oram treble

The man of the moment, Juan Killip, was the match-winner again as Peel continued their title push on Saturday.

Fresh from a double which helped the westerners to Railway Cup success on Boxing Day, Killip scored the only goal of the game to secure a fine 1-0 win at ‘auld firm’ rivals Rushen at Croit Lowey.

That moved the westerners level at the top with St George’s, although the reigning champions have two games in hand.

At the other end of the table, Douglas Royal have an uphill task if they’re to preserve their top flight status.

That’s after the bottom club were thrashed 5-1 at Ramsey, led by hat-trick hero Danny Oram.

Ryan Williamson and Robbie Collister grabbed the others as the dominant home side – who were 4-0 up at half-time – sealed three crucial points of their own to move further away from the Sure Mobile Premier League drop zone.

Gavin Gawne notched the Royal consolation against a Ramsey side reduced to 10 men in the second half.

The windy conditions caused the game between Union Mills and Old Boys to be abandoned at Garey Mooar.

Old Boys led 2-1 at the time.
