
The retiring member of the House of Keys for Michael says his spell as treasury minister was the hardest time of his political career, but he knew the Isle of Man's finance sector had to be cleaned up.
David Cannan has announced he won't be standing in the general election in September, after 29 years in national politics.
As well as being treasury minister, he was also chairman of the Financial Supervision Commission in the late 1980s, during what was a very difficult time for the Island.
