Island archer named in squad for 2027 event
Isle of Man archer, Lesley Sleight has been selected to represent England at next year's World Bowhunter Championships.
Sleight - who's a member of Bowderyn Vannin Field Archery and Isle of Man Archery Club - will be part of the national squad which wll head to the event in Bad Waldsee, Germany from 10-16 October, 2027.
The Island competitor will take part in the Traditional Recurve Class and will be one of nine overall to be part of the England setup.
Each of the 29 nations expected to participate has been given an initital player allocation of nine, however, it's understood this could change going forward to allow more to be part of the meeting.
This call-up comes just under a month afeter Sleight won the Lady Traditional Recurve trophy and broke two records at the English Field Archery Association National Championships near Ashby-de-la-Zouch.
