It will also be first race of No Rest For The Wicked series

The 2026 Isle of Man Marathon & Half-Marathon Championship this weekend will kickstart a busy few days in local athletics.

The event - which involves races over both full and half-marathon distances - will be held in and around Ramsey this Sunday (9 August).

What's more, the occasion - which has attracted more than 500 entries - will form the first of six races over six days for the 2026 No Rest For The Wicked Series.

Isle of Man athletics correspondent, Dave Griffiths, says tactics may come into play this weekend as certain competitors will also have to plan for taking part in other meetings in the days that follow:

On Sunday, the marathon will start on Mooragh Promenade at 8.30am whilst the half-marathon will get underway slightly later at 9am on North Shore Road.

The events will take place on what is known as the 'Manx Northern Course' with the half-marathon field completing one lap and the marathon participants covering two laps.

Both races - which are organised by the Isle of Man Veteran Athletes' Club (IOMVAC) - will finish at Ballacloan Stadium in Ramsey.

Entries for the two races have already closed.
