But both still possibly in contention if anyone drops out
Two Isle of Man athletes have narrowly missed out on places in the Great Britain cross-country squads but may still be in contention if there are late changes.
On Sunday (27 November), Sarah Astin and David Mullarkey took part in the Liverpool Cross Challenge at Sefton Park.
The event was the selection trial race to decide the GB squad for the European Cross-Country Championships in Turin, Italy which take place on 11 December.
Despite strong displays in Merseyside, both Astin and Mullarkey just missed out on a spot in the six-person teams for the Senior Women's and U23 Men's categories respectively.
However, it's understood the duo may still have an outside chance of a late call-up should there be any drop-outs.
