Ollie Lockley takes team gold in senior men's competition
Manx runner Sarah Astin has today (25 February) been crowned national English Cross-Country champion.
Competing at Bolesworth Castle in Chester today for Belgravia Harriers, Astin took the senior women's title after crossing the line ahead of former European champion, Gemma Steel, after a close battle between the two in the closing stages of today's race.
It's another strong display for Astin this month who, a few weeks ago, managed a third place finish whilst representing England in the Lotto Cross Cup in Belgium on 12 February.
It was a day of double success for Island competitors today as Ollie Lockley took a team gold in the senior men's race whilst competing for Leeds City AC.
Lockley finished 41st individually in the overall standings for that event.
