Manx cross-country competitor makes positive start to 2024
Manx athlete Sarah Astin enjoyed a positive first outing of 2024 with the England squad securing a top-five finish in Spain at the weekend.
Contesting the senior women's race at the Juan Muguerza Elgoibar cross-country event, Astin took fifth place in a time of 28 minutes and six seconds.
Two of her fellow England competitors also finished strong with Niamh Brown crossing the line ahead of Astin in fourth whilst Lauren Hall took sixth spot.
For Astin - currently a member of Belgrave Harriers - it follows on from a successful 2023 in which she was crowned English national cross-country champion.
