Athletics: Cross-Country League returns this weekend

Over 200 entries registered for opening round

The latest edition of the Isle of Man Cross-Country League is set to take place this weekend.

Round One is due to be held on Sunday (1 October) with 208 entries already received for the contest being held at Port-e-Chee meadow near Braddan Bridge.

Entries for the event are now closed.

Organised by Manx Harriers, this opening stage will see competitors across the different age groups cover various distances on the largely grassland course.

The first race will get underway from 1pm with the Under-9 Boys class followed by Under-11, Under-13, Under-15 and Under-17 sections.

The senior races will then start at 2.10pm and will include the Under-17 men, junior/senior/veteran women over 6,000m as well as the junior/senior/veteran men over 9,000m.
