Athletics: James Read sweeps to victory in Foxdale 5

Christa Cain takes women's win in NRFTW series' penultimate round

James Read continued his impressive form on the 2026 No Rest For The Wicked Series last night (13 August) by claiming the men's and overall win in the Foxdale 5.

During the contest organised by Manx Harriers, Read took first place in a time of 27 minutes and 44 seconds.

Also in the men's podium positions were Jordan Cain of Manx Harriers in second (28 minutes and 22 seconds) and Reggie Oasgood (unattached) in third (28 minutes and 33 seconds).

Meanwhile, Christa Cain (IOMVAC) secured a fourth consecutive women's win of this year's series by being the first female finisher in 28 minutes and 49 seconds to also cross the line fourth overall.

After that, Kirsty Barber of Western AC impressed again to finish as the second female in 31 minutes and 54 seconds ahead of Elena Caley (Manx Harriers) who crossed the line as the third woman in 33 minutes and 16 seconds.

The sixth and final round of this year's No Rest For The Wicked Series will be held tonight (14 August) with the seven-mile Peel Heritage Trail Race, due to get underway at 7pm.
