Local runner believes it's ideal for new and experienced competitors
For older athletes on Island looking to start out or get back into sports, masters athletics is a 'fantastic' way of staying active.
That's the view of local competitor, Neil Vondy who's been impressing in a number of masters events in recent weeks.
This month he represented Great Britain at the European Masters Athletics Championships in Madeira, Portugal, competing in both the Men's 60 age group 200m and the 4x100m relay races.
What's more, he thinks running can not only satisfy people's competitive streaks, whatever their targets, but it can also be a good social outlet:
