Northern AC competitor fended off late challenge to claim victory
Manx athlete Mia Dunwell has secured top honours after a title-winning display at the English Schools Championships.
Representing Isle of Man schools, the Northern AC competitor won the Senior Girls title in the 5,000m track walk during the event in Bedford at the weekend (17 September).
She finished the event in a time of 27 minutes 39.95 seconds, 7.33 seconds clear of her nearest challenger in second, Abigail Smith of Kent.
Fellow Manx athlete, Tom Partington, has also been singled out for praise after heading to Bedford last weekend to provide support.
