Manxman once again impresses for Florida State University
Manx athlete David Mullarkey has earned a place at national championship competition out in the USA.
The Island-born competitor is one of three Florida State University (FSU) contenders alongside Tyson Williams and Kyvon Tatham who've earned places at the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Outdoor Track & Field Championship next month.
It comes after Mullarkey placed fifth in the 5,000m race at the recent NCAA East Regional Preliminary Championships in a time of 13 minutes, 52.62 seconds.
Speaking about the runners' performance, FSU track and field head coach Bob Braman says David 'handled his race in controlled business.'
It will be Mullarkey's second outdoor nationals after earning All-American honours in cross country in late 2023 as well as second-team accolades in indoor earlier this year.
The national championships are due to take place at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon from 5-8 June.
