Island athlete sets new standards in Sheffield
Manx athlete, Regan Corrin has shattered his own Isle of Man men's long jump record during recent competition in the UK.
Contesting the Men's Under-20 long jump final at the England Athletics Indoor Championships in Sheffield last weekend (7-8 Feb), Corrin managed to clear a distance of 7.57 metres on his first jump.
This surpasses the previous Island men's national benchmark of 7.31 metres he set during 2025.
During this latest competition, Corrin's efforts went on to see him secure the silver medal in Sheffield, beaten only by a 7.73-metre jump from event winner, Daniel Emegbor.
Furthermore, Corrin did also manage a leap of 7.55 metres on his third attempt during the final.
Elsewhere, completing the podium during the Men's Under-20 long jump final was Sammy Lok who managed a best jump of 7.29 metres.
