Debut season success for Manxman
Manx professional 8-Ball Pool player David Addinall scooped up two accolades at the International Pool Players Association awards at the end of last week.
The 36-year-old was crowned IPA most improved player of the year for the 2018 season, as well as IPA fans’ player of the year, at an awards ceremony in Bradford.
The second of those was decided by popular vote, and fellow Manx cueists began a campaign to gather support for him when nominations opened earlier this year.
Addinall said he was “delighted but gobsmacked” and “overwhelmed” with the results.
The awards are the icing on the cake of a successful debut season, which has seen him climb to number 34 in the world, having beaten several of the biggest names in the sport.
