Vikings women narrowly defeated
Island’s men’s champions Bacchas A produced a fine performance to reach the quarter-finals of the English Hockey Tier 2 Trophy yesterday afternoon (Sunday).
A 2-1 success at Liverpool Sefton, secured by strikes from Andrew Whiting and Craig Leece, booked their place in the last eight.
Vikings Men didn’t fare so well in the Tier 3 competition. They went down 8-1 to Lymm Mens with Tim Henderson scoring their consolation.
Vikings Women also suffered a rare defeat in Women’s Tier 2.
They were beaten 3-2 at home by Lancaster Ladies, despite goals from Mia Greenwood and Georgia Foxton.
Ramsey Women beat Golborne Ladies 4-0 in the Tier 4 Trophy, courtesy of doubles from Vicky Garner and Megan Roberts.
