Goals galore on opening weekend
The champions hit their rivals for six on the opening weekend of the PWC Men’s Premier League.
Reigning champions Bacchas A ran out 6-3 winners over Vikings A, courtesy of an Andy Whiting hat-trick, a Jamie Brown double and a Johnny Callow strike.
Tom Burrows (two), Steve Underwood replied for Vikings.
Title hopefuls Valkyrs A were pushed by Ramsey A before emerging 3-2 winners.
Luis Novo Smith (two) and Chris Killey grabbed the goals with Jon Cain and Jordan Parkinson finding the net for the northerners.
The result of the day in the top flight saw Castletown A see off Bacchas B in style.
Danny Kniveton (two), Christian Steriopulous, Robin Masson and Dave Bolton were on target in a 5-1 win.
Conor Duggua scored the Bacchas’ consolation.
In the PWC Women’s Premier Division, there were big victories for Bacchas A and Ramsey A.
Bacchas put eight past Castletown without reply, thanks to goals from Freya Duchars (three), Jess Tarpey (two), Emma Courtie, Ellie Pearson and Sophie Hudson.
Ramsey A saw off Harlequins A 7-0.
A Vicki Garner treble led the way and she was helped by Leah Morgan (two), Ellen Robinson and Megan Roberts.
