Island player performs well in singles and doubles contests
There was double success for Island badminton player, Martin Cheung, during competition in England at the weekend.
Competing at the Swindon Stars U19B event on 4 June, Cheung went on to take the gold medal in the U19 men's singles category.
He did so by winning all but one of his games in straight sets on the way to success, including in the final against Yixiang Hou.
There was to be more good news during the evening session at The Deanery CE Academy as he teamed up with Jamie Wakefield for the men's U19 doubles tournament.
The pair would go on to claim silver in the category. only losing out to Rayyan Asif and Zach Tang in the final.
