Positives for IoM squad at Badminton England event
The Isle of Man's badminton competitors went on to secure more medal success during competition in Yorkshire in the last week.
A squad of Manx competitors were involved in the men's & ladies singles, men's & ladies doubles and mixed doubles events during the Badminton England Harrogate Senior Bronze tournament on 16-17 September.
Tobey Cheng claimed the silver medal in the men's singles whilst Leah Brennan also took silver in the women's singles round-robin contest with her fellow Island athlete, Annelise Mellor, finishing third in those standings.
Elsewhere, Cheng and doubles partner, Matt Nicholson, reached the quarter-final stage of the men's doubles with Brennan and Mellor teaming up for the women's doubles in which they finished third in their group.
In the mixed doubles the Isle of Man fielded the pairings of Mellor & Nicholson with Cheng joining forces with Charlotte Watson whilst Brennan teamed together with UK competitor, Gaius Ip.
All the doubles teams went on to finish second in their respective groups.
