Badminton: Ten players to represent IoM at 2025 Island Games

Kim Clague and Jessica Li women's doubles gold medalists in 2023

Manx squad took three medals during previous event in Guernsey

Ten players have been selected to represent the Isle of Man in badminton at the 2025 Island Games.

Isle of Man Badminton Association has confirmed five male and five female competitors have been chosen to take on the respective classes in Orkney in July.

Of the ten individuals set to be involved, six played a part in the Isle of Man's campaign at the previous games in Guernsey two years ago with four new additions for 2025.

Among those taking part again are medal winners Kim Clague, Jessica Li and Matthew Nicholson whilst Alex Buck, Philippa Li and Steven Quayle are selected once more.

Coming in to strengthen the Isle of Man's bid this year are Tommy Cheng, Baillie Watterson, Annelise Mellor and Charlotte Watson.

During the 2023 event the Isle of Man claimed three medals in badminton - the squad's one gold came courtesy of Clague and Jessica Li winning the women's doubles tournament.

Elsewhere, Jessica Li took silver in the women's singles and was again in the medals in the mixed doubles as she and Nicholson secured bronze.

The 2025 Island Games are scheduled to take place from 12-18 July - the badminton tournament is due to start on Sunday, 13 July.
