A bank worker living in St John's says he hopes to bring some commercial nous to the government, if he is elected to the House of Keys next month.
Matthew Wadsworth will contest the single seat in Glenfaba in the general election on September 29.
The 33-year-old is a commercial analyst at Barclays Bank which, he says, has given him the financial skills needed in government to tackle hard economic times.
He also believes it may be time for more business people to offer themselves to the electorate (listen to audio file below):
The other candidates in Glenfaba so far are sitting member David Anderson and challenger Geoffrey Boot.
